My favorite science book I read last year was An Immense World by Ed Yong. It’s an incredible look into the very different ways that animals experience the world. My latest story for Science News Explores asks whether AI might help people learn how to talk to animals. It’s part science and part philosophy. The fact that animals have such different experiences of the world means we might have nothing to talk about. But I’m still hopeful that the efforts of CETI and others will be successful.
