More Video Games

Well, I guess I’ve found my niche in children’s nonfiction: video games. My husband used to work as a software engineer on games (like, 5 years ago), and conversations with him way back then led me to propose an article on video games to Odyssey magazine.

Well, that article eventually landed me my first book project, which led to another book with a new publisher. The book, Pop Culture: American Life and Video Games from Pong to Minecraft, came out this fall, and I should soon receive my author copies.

Meanwhile, I wrote yet another article on video games for Science News for Students for their “Cool Jobs” series. It was my first piece for this special series: Cool Jobs: Video Game Creators. Special thanks once again goes to my husband for helping me out with sources for the story.
